Defense forces repel enemy attacks in three directions, heavy battles ongoing

This is stated in the evening report by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine published on Facebook.

"During the day, the Russian occupiers launched a massive air and missile attack on the territory of Ukraine, using three Kalibr cruise missiles, five Iskander-K cruise missiles, four Kh-22 cruise missiles, seven Oniks cruise missiles, and 19 Shahed drones. The air defense units of the Air Force and air defense forces of other components of the Defense Forces of Ukraine destroyed two Kalibr cruise missiles, three Iskander-K cruise missiles, and 13 Shahed combat UAVs," the General Staff reports.

It is noted that the enemy also launched 40 airstrikes and 46 MLRS attacks. As a result of the Russian terrorist attacks, there are civilian casualties, destruction and damage to industrial facilities, residential buildings and other civilian and administrative infrastructure.

According to the report, the operational situation in Volyn and Polissia directions remains without significant changes, no signs of the formation of offensive groups have been detected.

In Sivershchyna and Slobozhanshchyna directions, the enemy maintains its military presence. The General Staff informs that the Russians fired mortars and artillery on more than 20 settlements, in particular, Leonivka in Chernihiv region; Seredyna-Buda, Volfyne in Sumy region; Udy, Kozacha Lopan, Starytsia, Vovchansk, and Budarky in Kharkiv region.

In Kupyansk direction, the Ukrainian military holds the defense, having successfully repelled enemy attacks southwest of Masiutivka in Kharkiv region. Dvorichna, Zapadne, Kamyanka, Krasne Pershe, Kupyansk, Kucherivka, Monachynivka, and Topoli in Kharkiv region came under enemy artillery and mortar fire.

In Lyman direction, the settlements of Nevske, Bilohorivka in Luhansk region; Torske, Verkhniokamyanske, Berestove, Kyslivka, Rozdolivka in Donetsk region were hit with artillery.

In Bakhmut direction, under heavy enemy artillery fire, our defenders successfully repelled enemy attacks on the southwestern outskirts of Klishchiyivka. More than 10 settlements, including Vasiukivka, Bohdanivka, Chasiv Yar, and Oleksandro-Shultyne in Donetsk region, came under enemy artillery fire.

In Avdiyivka direction, under heavy enemy aviation and artillery fire, the defenders successfully repelled the attacks of Russian troops in the area of Nevelske. The enemy launched an airstrike in the area of Avdiyivka and fired artillery on more than 10 settlements, in particular, Avdiyivka, Karlivka, Nevelske in Donetsk region.

In Maryinka direction, the Armed Forces of Ukraine continue to deter the advance of Russian troops near Novomykhaylivka and Maryinka in Donetsk region. It is noted that the enemy shelled more than 10 settlements, in particular, Krasnohorivka, Maryinka, and Heorhiyivka in Donetsk region.

In Shakhtarske direction, the enemy launched an air strike in the area of Makarivka and shelled the settlements of Velyka Novosilka, Vuhledar, Blahodatne, and Odradne in Donetsk region.

In Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions, the enemy focuses its main efforts on preventing the further advance of our troops. The Russians made unsuccessful attempts to restore the lost position in the area north of Pryiutne, Zaporizhzhia region. At the same time, the enemy launched an airstrike near Pyatykhatky in Zaporizhzhia region. More than 25 settlements, including Novodanylivka, Malynivka, Huliaypole, Zaliznychne, Bilohirya in Zaporizhzhia region; Kherson, Poniativka, Chervonyi Mayak, Antonivka, Zymivnyk in Kherson region were hit with artillery.

The Defense Forces of Ukraine also continue to go on the offensive in Melitopol and Berdiansk directions, gain a foothold on the gained frontiers, inflict fire damage with artillery on identified enemy targets, and carry out counter-battery fight.

Ukraine’s Air Force launched seven strikes on enemy personnel clusters. Also, the defenders destroyed one reconnaissance UAV of operational-tactical level.

Missile and artillery units hit six artillery pieces on firing positions and an enemy EW station.
