About 30 combat engagements recorded in four sectors of the front – General Staff

The Russian forces continue to focus their main efforts on the Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka, and Marinka sectors of the front.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said this in its evening update, Ukrinform reports.

The enemy is focusing its main efforts on the Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Marinka directions, with about 30 combat engagements recorded there throughout the day.

In the Lyman direction, the enemy, in the course of offensive operations, attempted to dislodge Ukrainian troops from their held positions in the area of Novoiehorivka, Luhansk region, but had no success. The Russian forces launched an airstrike on the area of Bilohorivka, Luhansk region. More than 10 settlements, including Nevske, Bilohorivka in Luhansk region, and Torske, Verkhniokamianske, and Rozdolivka in Donetsk region, came under enemy artillery fire.

In the Bakhmut direction, Ukrainian defenders successfully repelled enemy attacks on the areas south of Berkhivka and Bohdanivka, Donetsk region. They continue to conduct offensive operations in the south and north of Bakhmut, they gained a foothold on the boundaries achieved. The enemy launched air strikes on Bohdanivka and Toretsk districts. More than 10 settlements, including Vasiukivka, Khromove, Oleksandro-Shultyne, and Pivnichne of Donetsk region, were subjected to enemy artillery shelling.

In the Avdiivka direction, the Defense Forces continue to restrain the advance of Russian troops in the area of Avdiivka. At the same time, the enemy launched air strikes on Avdiivka and Nevelske areas. More than 10 settlements, in particular, Berdychi, Stepove, Avdiivka, Nevelske and Pervomaiske of Donetsk region, came under enemy artillery fire.

In the Marinka direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled all enemy attacks on the area of Marinka. The enemy launched an air strike on Krasnohorivka area in Donetsk region. More than 10 settlements, including Krasnohorivka, Hanivka, Marinka, and Pobieda of Donetsk region, came under enemy shelling.

As Ukrinform reported, from February 24, 2022 to July 5, 2023, the Defense Forces eliminated 231,700 Russian invaders, including 670 occupiers on July 4.
